The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA might be rendering services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it can be alarmed with regards to the substantial range of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your substantial variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The assistance position produced for intervention ordeals a large inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it hard for your Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional sources to empower the servicing of all consumers and maximize entry to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
